I will never photograph a Pride again without roller-skates! The parade was huge and the music was bumpin’ so I was bursting with energy to cruise around capturing the celebration! I hitched a ride with my pal Ned Parker, the resident pastor for children and young adults at Seattle First Baptist in Capitol Hill. We spent an exhausting amount of time blowing up the inflatable palm tree and then handed out leis while everyone gathered around hugging, the Seattle Police Pipes and Drum troupe playing and lots of picture takers.
Macklemore pulled up in his mint green Cadillac to share in the celebration and support the community while fans were pretty excited to see him.

Generations of Pride is the theme of this years parade and it aims to celebrate the history of the Northwest’s LGBT rights movement and advance the ongoing progress the LGBT community has made since first coming out in 1974, the year of the inaugural Seattle Pride celebration.
Casa Latina was founded in 1994 to empower Seattle’s Latino immigrants by providing them educational and economic opportunities, giving people the tools they need to work, live, support their families and contribute to the Seattle community.
Diverse Harmony: The Nations First Gay/Straight Alliance Youth Chorus.
Sisters Of The Mother House of Washington was there to represent in full attire. She reminded me of some of the nun teachers I had during my Catholic school experience although this Sister had ankles 😉
Happy Pride Everyone!
