Flora N Fauna mural, San Francisco

San Francisco based artist AmandaLynn and Lady Mags joined forces earlier this year to create a beautiful mural in San Francisco. I had the pleasure to document the budding of their new friendship and art collaboration. I’m looking forward to seeing more from these super talented ladies.

The streets of El Barrio had an electric vibe for Art Basel! In it’s 10th year, the Wynwood Arts District, one of the biggest street art districts in the world, opened it’s walls. To be invited as an artist by the community, thanks to Primary Flight and sponsorship by Ironlak, is a huge responsibility to bring your best self to this historically Puerto Rican neighborhood and breath some positive life into it’s walls. With this in mind, I was open to whomever and whatever I could learn about the district, the Few&Far collective I came with and it’s visitors. Here is what I found…

Gabi and Caper’s backyard Atlanta wedding by ErinAshford.com
To see the full feature go to: Weddings Unveiled

Designed in a palette of slate, white and shades of yellow ranging from pale buttercup to deep mustard, the inspired palette was perfect for the couple’s Fall nuptials. Gabi and Caper’s wedding was filled to the brim with handcrafted details created by the bride who is also owner of event planning and design company helloHITCHED. From an old typewriter to mason jars and hanging paper garland Gabi created a unique wedding design mixing Southern touches with vintage elements, including the bridesmaids’ fabulous vintage frocks from Stefan’s Vintage Clothing. Under an open-air tent trimmed with garden lights, long banquet tables were draped in light gray linens and antique lace overlays paired with striking mandarin yellow chiavari chairs for the outdoor reception. The talented Amy Osaba created a gorgeous display of blooms set in a variety of vintage vessels to decorate each tables center, while individual kraft paper wrapped baguettes sat at each place setting adorned with a vibrant yellow place card. Don’t miss a single reception detail, including the couple’s two tier yellow confection and incredible pig shaped groom’s cake from Highland Bakery.

Thursday afternoon Amanda Lynn I spent the day doing an art install at The Hydrilla studio on Market Street in the Warfield building. The Hydrilla hosted an after hours party on Saturday, August 13th from midnight-4am and it was packed while the DJ spun some Adina Howard ‘Freak Like Me’ until the late night HOUSE set it off. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out the show will be hanging for a month or you can see the display from Market St at 6th everyday! Imagery by Erin Ashford

Dylan Maddux solo photography exhibition at Cassel Gallery San Francisco imagery by Erin Ashford

I’m back in the Bay Area and had a chance to capture Dylan Maddux at Cassel Gallery for his solo opening Mau Loa. Cassel was packed! Brick walls lined with wheat-pasted large format black and white prints of Hawaiian and Polynesian families, free flowin’ kegs, music, late-night chicken wings and spam sushi. The party pretty much stayed that way until people were shoved out.
